Explore the Wild Atlantic Way
While you're here!
Why not explore all the best the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer
Congratulations to each & every one of you.
A huge thank you to all the participants, marshals, volunteers, sponsors and everyone who helped make the 11th Westport Sea2Summit a day to remember.
See you next year!
Westport Sea 2 Summit will took place on Saturday 11th November. This is a unique event based in the adventure capital of Ireland, Westport. The race incorporates all the thrills that Westport has to offer; Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay, the Sheaffry Mountains and the new Greenway.
Westport Sea2Summit is organised and run by the Westport Plaza & Castlecourt Hotel Resort under the guidance of Race Director, Paul O ‘Brien.
There will be two separate races with three categories in both, which will include a mix of road running, cycling, and a mountain hike.
The Sea2Summit Spirit caters for the participant that wants a challenge but has not taken part in adventure racing before. Duration time for the fastest will be 2.5 – 3hrs.
The Sea2Summit Supreme is for the participant who wants an extra challenge. The hike up and down the front face of Croagh Patrick (Murrisk) will hurt the legs and the back breaking ramps at the Maum climb will definitely test your bike and quad muscles.
Duration time for the elite athletes will be around 3.5hrs.
In these two races, there are 3 categories to choose from:
We are working with the Croagh Patrick Stakeholders Group to protect the heritage of the mountain. We are reducing the number of our competitors taking part in the Supreme Event in order to reduce the traffic on the Cone where the main erosion is occurring.
